ABOUT THE PARTNERS

The spectacular wonder and beauty of many of the world's most threatened plants and animals are in the spotlight at the Species Pavilion, one of the main exhibits featured at IUCN's World Conservation Congress (WCC), in Barcelona, Spain, from October 5 to 14. The Species Pavilion is presented by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, a governmental organization of the United Arab Emirates; the IUCN Species Programme; and Conservation International.

The Species Pavilion highlights conservation strategies, successes and benefits to human well-being that stem from the underlying goal of protecting species. It provides a stunning showcase for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and recognizes contributions of the 7,500 scientists who volunteer their expertise in the Specialist Groups of the IUCN Species Survival Commission.

World-class photography from the International League of Conservation Photographers, videos, live presentations addressing the challenges and opportunities of conservation, and press events are taking place in the pavilion daily throughout the WCC forum. Information about amazing species and visual profiles of the dedicated experts who work to protect them are on a rotating display, with presentations changing daily.
